About the Ekofumigacja project
From intervention to prevention
Ekofumigacja was founded on the belief that modern collection care should combine effective technology with concern for human health, heritage safety and the natural environment.

Responsible heritage care
For decades, biological threats in collections were fought with strong biocides, including ethylene oxide — a documented carcinogen requiring strict safety procedures.
A broader view
Is an effective disinfection enough if objects return to rooms where the causes of degradation remain? Definitely not.
Preventive conservation
It means not only choosing interventions, but managing storage conditions long-term: humidity control, air quality, dust reduction and regular monitoring.
The role of INT4SAN
INT4SAN does not replace disinfection or pest treatment when needed. It helps maintain proper conditions and limits the factors behind recurring threats — especially where collections return after treatment.
Three pillars of the project
People
Safety of those who work with collections — no carcinogens or biocidal aerosols.
Collections
Protecting objects from degradation and re-contamination after treatment.
Environment
Technologies that reduce the environmental impact of heritage care.
